Areas of Therapeutic Focus

Depression & Anxiety

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment using the effective modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Karen is able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.

Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors

Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) affect 1 in 30 people but are often unrecognized and under treated. Karen provides expert treatment for BFRBs including hair pulling, skin picking and nail biting. She will help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of recovery using proven modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Habit Reversal Training (HRT).

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder in which sufferers have repetitive thoughts, images or sensations (obsessions) and employ behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) to try to get rid of the obsessions and the distress they cause.  Our expert treatment uses the most effective modalities for recovery, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
